Truth 4 Youth Assembly

Our community department works closely with young children and we visit all the local schools throughout the Merseyside region giving assemblies. We are happy to say that our assemblies reached over 12,000 school children last year and are continuing this year with our community staff visiting local and regional schools taking along the European Cup and our messages.

The topics of these assemblies talk about contemporary issues highlighting the harmful effects of drug use, bullying, racism and violence. Also offering a message of unity with Liverpool 's famous words of 'You 'll Never Walk Alone'

We have 6 Key Messages for Primary schools including singing and competitions and more Key Messages for Secondary Schools including hard facts and statistics. The mottoes chosen by the Liverpool FC Community team are:

'KICK DRUGS INTO TOUCH'
'GIVE BULLYING THE BOOT'
'SHOW RACISM THE RED CARD'
'WE IS BETTER THAN ME'
'MORE IMPORTANT THAN BEING A GOOD FOOTBALLER IS BEING A GOOD PERSON'
and 'YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE.'
The Truth 4 Youth school assembly programme continues to be a huge success in schools throughout Merseyside. We have also introduced new slogans:
'SHOOT GOALS NOT GUNS'
'KNIVES ARE FOR EATING NOT FOR FIGHTING '
and 'BEFORE YOU PLEASE THINK DISEASE.'
These being aimed at older pupils in secondary schools.

Truth 4 Youth Message

'The issues that the team tackled were pertinent and important. They dealt with difficult issues like bullying sensitively and with great insight through the use of music and good humour. '
Head teacher Middlefield Community Primary School

'Best assembly we ever had ' Pupils of Sandfield Park School

'The children were both entertained and educated to a very high standard. Staff and pupils found the experience very worthwhile and the team left us with positive messages which remain with us for some time. ' Headteacher All Saints Primary School

momo at school

Liverpool midfielder Momo Sissoko donated some of his time to help us spread our positive messages to school children in Merseyside by taking part in one of our Truth 4 Youth assemblies at All Saints Catholic Primary School in Anfield.

momo at schoolMomo helped our team deliver the message of 'Show Racism The Red Card' talking about times in his own life when he has experienced racism.

momo at schoolMomo joined in singing songs with us and with all the school pupils and the schools Head Teacher Jeremy Barnes said 'It was a tremendous experience for all the pupils.'

If you are interested in us coming to your school for an assembly then you can call or email us on the contact details at the bottom of this page.

LFC has worked with Liverpool Hope University on a new scheme called Signal Project.
Hope students attend the assemblies with LFC Community coaches and then work with that school for the following week. The students work with the Truth 4 Youth slogans but in various other ways ie. through dance, drama, music and workshops. The signal Project was launched with an evening of performances by school children at Liverpool Lighthouse.

Football wise, the community team take youngsters for general football coaching in mainstream schools, after school clubs, community centres, special needs schools and adult day care centres.

There were over 300 children each day in Upper Shankhill and whilst the coaches did a presentation to all the children, parents and the Bishops talked about the Truth 4 Youth slogans. The coaches also visited a special needs school and the children's cancer ward at the hospital. In Carrick Fergus the coaches were joined by LFC ladies who played, and won, in a local tournament. In Germany the coaches were placed in the army barracks at Osnabruck coaching the children whose parents are stationed there. There was a three day camp to over 130 children, every day aged 15 to 17.

HAPPY 800th BIRTHDAY LIVERPOOL!

LFC Take Part in 800th Birthday ParadeOur community team recently helped the City of Liverpool celebrate its 800th Birthday by taking part in the city's birthday parade.
Thousands turned up to see the official birthday parade which started at St George's Hall and then travelled along Dale Street past the Town Hall along Castle Street and Lord Street before returning to St George's Hall. Members of our LFC Community Department including some of our coaches and office staff represented the club along with children from North Liverpool Academy who had been working with us on our Summer 2007 coaching programme. We walked in the section named "Football Magic" accompanied by representatives from Everton FC and Tranmere FC. There was a great turn out and Liverpool FC was proud to take part. Thanks to all that came out to see the parade!

If you would like to contact us with feedback about any of our community projects or would like further infomation about getting involved with anything that you have seen above please see the Contact Us option on the top of this web page.
