Liverpool Reserves rounded off their pre-season with a 1-0 defeat at Manchester City on Wednesday afternoon.
Rodolfo Borrell's charges produced a solid display on a dull afternoon at Ewen Fields but went down to a narrow loss courtesy of Jose D'Angelo's 55th minute winner.
The Reds will now look to pick themselves up in time for next Wednesday's NextGen Series opener against Sporting Lisbon.
