Rafael Benitez today hailed the ingenious set piece that could yet prove to be a decisive factor in Liverpool's Europa League quarter-final tie with Benfica.
Daniel Agger got the Reds off to a flyer at the Estadio Da Luz when he flicked home Steven Gerrard's inventive free-kick, leaving the boss delighted with the away goal that presents his team with a more than realistic chance of overturning a 2-1 first-leg deficit.
"It was very good," said Rafa. "We have had some good set pieces but this one was fantastic. I have to give credit to Stevie and Agger because they were the ones who decided to do it."
He added: "The 2-1 scoreline disappointed me because it could have been better. But if you ask me which do you prefer, then 2-1 is better than 1-0. "
Meanwhile, Liverpool will have to secure their semi-final place without Emiliano Insua after the full-back was ruled out of the second-leg following a first-half booking.
With Fabio Aurelio still recovering from injury, the Argentine's absence leaves Benitez with a dilemma over who will feature on the left flank of his defence - an issue he is confident of resolving.
"Will have to analyse it," he added. "There is still plenty of time. The main thing is to focus on Birmingham now and we will see."
