Joe Cole is relishing the chance to play his part in a new era at Liverpool Football Club.
The Reds No.10 was unveiled alongside other summer recruits Danny Wilson and Milan Jovanovic at an Anfield press conference on Tuesday afternoon and was quick to discuss the new-found optimism at the club.
"We just want to get going now," said Cole. "The main thing would be to win the title - that's what the man on the street wants - but we'll just try to keep building and take it slowly.
"Everything's now in place for a successful spell at this club. I want to be at the start of something fresh and new. It's something I'm very excited about.
"It's a new chapter. We've got the new manager, new backroom staff and I'm a small part of it. I want to help this team and help us to achieve something."

Much has been made of Cole's decision to turn down Champions League football in favour of a move to Anfield.
However, the England international revealed that it was the mere pull of Liverpool Football Club that convinced him his future lay on Merseyside.
"I don't want to talk about other clubs," he said. "I'm a Liverpool player now and I just want to look to the future. The club speaks for itself in what it's achieved and the people around here have made me feel very welcome. I'm enjoying my first few days training and want to get fit and start playing games. I want to enjoy my football and help this great club to win trophies.
"From the start of the season, our aim has to be to try and win every competition we are involved in. Last season was disappointing, but there have been a lot of changes and there is a lot of positivity around Melwood. Everyone is really excited. I wouldn't have thought I had come to a club that had endured a difficult time last season.
"We've got a good squad and even without everyone back yet, we've got a lot of quality here."
He continued: "I spoke to the gaffer and Christian, but I think the size of the club (convinced me to come) - it's immense.
"I also spoke to Stevie, Carra and Jonno and I'm just excited about the future of the club. To be able to come here and put on a Liverpool shirt makes it exciting times for me."
Cole also had words of praise for new boss Roy Hodgson and intimated that the appointment of the former Fulham manager was another factor in his decision to join the Reds.
"I'm excited to work with Roy," he said. "He's shown in the last two and half years what a fantastic manager he is - and that's following on from everything else he has done in his career. It was important I went to a club where I felt the manager wanted me.
"I'm chomping at the bit, I just want to get going now."
