Liverpool youngster David Martin has earned praise from Tranmere Rovers' caretaker manager Les Parry after making an instant impression in his one-month loan spell at Prenton Park.
The goalkeeper was thrown in at the deep end as he started Rovers' 2-1 victory over Brighton last weekend.
"His all-round game was excellent and I have said to Liverpool if he carries on performing, he will stay in the team. I have to stick to that," Parry said.
Tranmere take on League One rivals Hartlepool today and Martin will hope his fine debut display has done enough for him to retain the number one spot for the game.
"I think he acquitted himself very well. He talked well and kicked well," added Parry.
