Alan Hansen has labelled Fernando Torres's goalscoring achievements as 'phenomenal'.
El Nino's winner at Villa Park last week took his tally to 50 league goals in 72 appearances - a stat no one in Anfield history can match.
Hansen knows a thing or two about prolific goalscorers having spent the best part of his career playing with Ian Rush - but the Scot thinks Torres is a bit special.
"We've had the likes of Rush, Robbie Fowler, John Aldridge, Roger Hunt, Ian St John and many other great centre-forwards before them. For Torres to score 50 league goals quicker than any of them is phenomenal," Hansen told LFC Weekly magazine.
"Look at Rushie. He joined the club as a kid and although he didn't score in his first seven league games, he was playing in an all-conquering Liverpool team that had just won the European Cup and were in the middle of a run that saw us win six league titles in eight seasons.
"The other thing is that there has been such a variety to Fernando's goals. He's scored from close range, long range, with his right foot, left foot and head.
"Torres's goals have made him a real hero amongst the Liverpool fans and what we want now is to see him win silverware in a red shirt."
Alan Hansen's column, along with a superb Liverpool FC year planner, is in this week's LFC weekly magazine.
