Our final season with Carlsberg proved to be one plagued by injury, frustration and overall disappointment.

Player of the Year: Pepe Reina. In a campaign dogged by inconsistency, the Spanish stopper proved to be Liverpool's leading light. Important saves and superb distribution were capped by 17 shut-outs which saw him share the Barclays Premier League's Golden Glove award with Chelsea's Petr Cech.
Highlights: A disappointing campaign was not without the occasional highlight. The 2-0 victory over Manchester United back in October looked to have got the season back on track, while a derby double over Everton and a 4-1 rout of Benfica provided some reasons for cheer.
