Torres or Fowler? Reina or Clemence? We gave 10 Kop heroes the unenviable challenge of picking their all-time Liverpool XI. Today perhaps our most hardest ever player, Tommy Smith, takes up the challenge.
Goalkeeper: Ray Clemence. Ray was the best goalkeeper along with Gordon Banks who I ever played with.
Right-back: Steve Nicol. A great all-round player.
Left-back: Gerry Byrne. People say I was hard but Gerry played 105 minutes at Wembley with a broken collar bone.
Centre halves: The Colossus Ron Yeats and Alan Hansen. Alan is the best footballing centre-half I have ever seen. Ron was commanding in the air and his presence at the back was unbelievable.
Central midfield: Graeme Souness and Kenny Dalglish. Souness was just a great player and a leader. Dalglish has the skill and the ability to pick out a pass quicker before anyone else.
Left midfield: Ray Kennedy. Ray could read the game and situations 10 minutes earlier than anybody else.
Right midfield: Ian Callaghan. I've never seen anything in the side better than him since.
Strikers: Roger Hunt and Ian St John. Two of the greatest centre forward's the game has ever produced.
Subs: Pepe Reina. Top quality. I also can't look no further than Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard. They could turn the game if we needed them.
Manager: Bill Shankly. There is no-one to match him.
