Roy Hodgson has revealed Fernando Torres will figure against FC Utrecht on Wednesday evening - while Pepe Reina will start the clash with the Dutch side.
The boss is planning to once again utilise the depth of his squad for the visit of Ton du Chatinier's men, but confirmed Torres will be involved as Liverpool wrap up their Europa League Group K campaign.
Meanwhile, Reina will retain his place in goal - though Hodgson admits it is another prime opportunity to give some members of his squad a run out in front of the Kop.
The manager told reporters: "It is a good chance to give some players a run out. It's a good chance for Jonjo (Shelvey) to show what he can do again. He's played a lot of European games and done very well.
"But it's also a chance for Ryan Babel. Fernando Torres will be involved in the game, as will Pepe Reina and our centre-backs.
"We'll have a strong team and I am sure Utrecht will have a strong team. They seem to play what they consider to be their best team in all of their matches, both European and domestic.
"We, by contrast, have actually fully utilised our squad, particularly in our European matches."
On handing Reina a starting berth, Hodgson added: "Pepe Reina likes to play. He would like to play in this one and I'm not going to be the one who says to him, 'You want to play, so you don't play.'
"So he will start the game and Brad Jones will be the second goalkeeper."

Hodgson also revealed Paul Konchesky will sit out the contest with a minor knock, presenting Fabio Aurelio with an opportunity.
He continued: "It's a question of who is available and could benefit from playing. Certainly the bench will be quite a strong one, which will give me a chance to use players and make changes.
"You mention Fabio Aurelio and Joe Cole. I don't regard them as reserves or second string, I regard them as players coming back from injury who are first-team players, so it gives me an opportunity to use them.
"Paul Konchesky has a slight injury problem. He's not injured and if it was a crucial game he could play, but it's good I've got Fabio Aurelio and I don't have to consider him."
Meanwhile, Dutch journalists were eager to know whether Dirk Kuyt would be involved in the match with his former club.
Hodgson replied: "Dirk is in the squad of 18 players. If it was up to him he would start the game, but he'll have to see if he can persuade me or not!"
