After eight years working with the first team at Melwood, Billy Parry has now been tasked with helping to develop our stars of the future.

The Technical Analyst joined the club in 2003 and with the help of fellow analyst Ian Dawes will now be offering technical analysis to all our young teams, from reserves right down to the under six age group.

"Working at the Academy is very different to Melwood. Primarily here, the focus is on player development through the age groups and hopefully into the first team squad." explains Billy, who obtained a 2:1 degree in Media and Journalism at the Cumbria College of Art.

He admits his role has evolved over the course of his eight years at Liverpool FC - but being a boyhood Liverpool fan, it's a responsibility he will never tire of.

"It's completely different really," he muses. "I was originally brought in under Gerrard Houllier to create opposition video sequences using the AVID non-linear editing system.

"For me, it's incredible to work for Liverpool Football Club."
