Argentine youngster Emiliano Insua arrived from Boca Juniors in January 2007 The left-back's initial 18-month loan was eventually made permanent and he has since progressed from the reserves into a first-team regular. On August 31, 2010 Liverpool confirmed Insua had joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan.
His senior debut came against Portsmouth on April 28, 2007, though much of the following season was spent helping the second string win the league.
It wasn't until 2008-09 that Insua began cementing his place in Rafael Benitez's plans, notching 13 appearances despite competition from Fabio Aurelio and Andrea Dossena.
He continued to impress in 2009-10 and scored his first goal for Liverpool with a long-range volley in the Carling Cup fourth round tie with Arsenal at the Emirates.
The youngster won his first cap for Argentina in a dramatic World Cup qualifier with Peru on October 10, 2009.
