Rafael Benitez once again raided his homeland to capture Daniel Ayala at the start of the 2007-08 campaign.
Ayala came from Seville, where he cut his teeth for seven years.
"I didn't hesitate when I found out Liverpool were interested," he said. "I didn't know much about the city but I knew all about the club and its successes."
Ayala helped the reserves to league glory in 2007-08 and went on to represent the first team.
A competitive debut arrived as a substitute at White Hart Lane on August 16, 2009. Three days later he made his first start alongside Jamie Carragher in a 4-0 victory over Stoke City.
In total, Ayala made five first-team appearances for Liverpool and also spent time on loan at Hull City and Derby County.
He joined Norwich City on a permanent basis in August 2011.
