Icelandic midfielder Victor Palsson made the move to Merseyside in January 2009.
The youngster, who has represented his country at U17, U18 and U19 level, signed a two-and-a-half-year deal after joining from Danish outfit AGF Arhus.
Palsson, whose father is Portuguese, is viewed as one of the brightest talents to emerge from Iceland in recent years.
He is currently cutting his teeth among John McMahon's reserve team squad.
